The world-class musicians in Big Richard initially convened in 2021 for a festival date. The quartet showed up to the one-off like it had been together for years and quickly graduated to club shows and dates. The musicians siphon from bluegrass, old time, classical, country, and pop.

Big Richard is a neo-acoustic super group composed of four well-established Colorado musicians:

Bonnie Sims on Mandolin
Bonnie & Taylor Sims, Everybody Loves an Outlaw, Bonnie and the Clydes

Joy Adams on Cello
Nathaniel Rateliff, Darol Anger, Half Pelican

Emma Rose on Bass & Guitar
Sound of Honey, Daniel Rodriguez, Whippoorwill

Eve Panning on Fiddle
Lonesome Days, TEDx

Upcoming Concert Dates

Bursting with jaw-dropping virtuosity; playfully irreverent stage banter; stunning four-part harmony; imaginative arrangements; a refreshingly eclectic repertoire; and a healthy dose of lady rage, Big Richard is poised to penetrate the Americana music world and beyond. To date, the quartet has issued 3 singles, the Live from Telluride album, and it has new music on the way.

"Several points can be taken away from seeing these proficient individuals {BIG RICHARD]. Their intoxicating chemistry, accentuated by a palpable kindred dynamic of balanced seriousness and triviality is a breath of fresh air. The delivery is authentic, and they easily pull their audience into their world, where they are celebrating life itself, their accomplishments, and enjoying the ride all the way through. They honor the good names that have influenced them and bring enough unique style to their readings that even if the tune is a common cover, anyone paying attention can easily recognize their sincere infusion of creativity and a drive to make it their own. Although some might consider their banter crass, referencing the obvious connection between their name and genitalia, these amorphous angels aren’t trying to sell anything but rather ascending themselves and the audience to a place free from conformity and expectation. Instead, the goal is a good time shared and to leave the venue, whether listener or performer with a soul full of laughter and a little more joy in the heart."
